Imagery

Each year the imagery of gold Panda coins changes and for 2019, the reverse of the gold Panda coin features an endearing image of a mother panda holding her baby panda cub in a loving embrace. The reverse face also displays the coin’s weight and purity, ’30g Au .999′, as well as the coin’s face value 500 Yuan.

The obverse of the 2019 gold Panda features a representation of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing encircled by the words “People’s Republic of China” in Chinese and the year of the coin’s issue, 2019.

Origin

Gold Panda coins are minted by Shenzhen Guobao Mint which is owned by China Gold Coin Corporation, which in turn is fully-owned by China’s central bank, the People’s Bank of China. This means that Chinese gold Panda coins are guaranteed and fully backed by the Chinese State.

Chinese gold Panda coins are a popular investment with a liquid market and the coins now even traded on the Shanghai Gold Exchange, China’s physical gold exchange.
